Favorite Architecture Paul’s Folley: A barn in Connecticut It is a 7000 square foot barn with 16 trapezoids. At its longest it is 78 feet, at its widest it is 58 feet. 430 timbers with 28,000 feet of 3 x 6 tongue and groove kiln dried Douglas fir decking. Post and beam construction, it was designed by my folks (with the help of Mercer and Bertsche). This awesome structure is collectively built by the many hands that have lent themselves to the daily task - namely Dave Main and Rick Bastura. But it is overseen by my father, who is ever under the tuteledge of the master builder - Grandpa Ralph. All would not be possible without the nourishment that pours from Grandma Valia’s kitchen and the joyful distractions of our chocolate lab Toby and boxer Jada. |
